Kane hails ´unbelievable´ Bellingham as England´s golden boy strikes again

Harry Kane lauded Jude Bellingham as unbelievable after the Real Madrid superstar s early goal sealed a 1-0 win over Serbia at Euro 2024.

Bellingham opened the scoring as he headed home Bukayo Saka s cross to become the first player to net for the Three Lions at both the World Cup and Euros while playing his club football outside of England.

The midfielder also became just the second player ever to score at both the World Cup and Euros before turning 21, after compatriot Michael Owen, who did so at the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000.

With plenty of pressure on the youngster s shoulders, Kane – who became England s record appearance maker in major tournaments – had nothing but praise for his team-mate.

Kane told BBC Sport: He s an unbelievable player. He…

Mourinho masterminds a very defensive success

Jose Mourinho hit the headlines with his jibes about Chelsea being a very defensive team but the Manchester United manager has been quietly turning his own side into a force to be reckoned with at the back.

The Red Devils 3-0 victory over Saint-Etienne in the Europa League marked the first time the club has won three consecutive European matches without conceding a goal since November 2010, when Sir Alex Ferguson was in charge.

Chelsea s impenetrable rearguard might have caught Mourinho s attention lately, but United are performing brilliantly at the back by the Portuguese s own standards, becoming the first of his teams to keep five consecutive clean sheets since he achieved that feat with Real Madrid in 2011.

Inter Milan in talks for Sevilla defender

that Inter Milan are stepping up their efforts to sign Sevilla full-back Mariano Ferreira Filho.

The Nerazzurri recently met with the player’s representatives to discuss a potential summer move to Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, while they will soon present a formal offer to los Rojiblancos.

Considering that Mariano will be 31 in June, Sevilla will feel this is a perfect time to secure a good price for his services, although the figure is unlikely to be too close to the player’s €20 million release clause.

The experienced defender is enjoying one of the most successful seasons on personal level, having made 28 La Liga appearances for los Rojiblancos and also earned his first Brazil call-up since 2010.

The full-back was an unused substitute in a 2018 World…

Newcastle land Lejeune from Eibar

Newcastle United have bolstered their defence ahead of a return to the Premier League with the signing of Florian Lejeune from Eibar.

The centre-back becomes the Magpies second arrival of the close-season following the permanent switch of Christian Atsu from Chelsea.

Lejeune has put pen to paper on a five-year deal at St James Park, meaning he will stay at Newcastle – promoted as champions under Rafael Benitez last season – until 2022.

I m very happy to have signed. Newcastle United is a big club, and I m very happy to be here, Lejeune told Newcastle s official website.

When you have a manager like Rafa Benitez who wants you, you are very happy to come. Since I ve been in touch with the manager, it was an easy decision for me to come here.

Parry: Scope for ´collective responsibility´ on away tickets

Former Premier League chief executive Rick Parry feels that top-flight clubs in England could work together to standardise the cost of tickets for away supporters.

The issue of ticket prices hit the headlines again this week after a group of Liverpool fans boycotted Tuesday s game at Hull City because they were being charged up to £50 per ticket, while Stoke City supporters paid £16 at the KC Stadium earlier in the season.

Parry, who was the Premier League s first chief executive before going on to fulfil the same role at Liverpool between 1998 and 2009, believes that while it is important for clubs to retain the right to set their own pricing structures, there is room for collective responsibility when it comes to away fans.
