New France coach Didier Deschamps will assume control for the first time in Wednesday s friendly against South American champions Uruguay.
Deschamps was appointed following the departure of Laurent Blanc, who left his position in the wake of France s disappointing Euro 2012 campaign.
Blanc had taken France to the European Championship as one of the favourites, with their 23-game unbeaten streak only ended by a 2-0 loss to Sweden in the last group match of the tournament.
But France finished second to England in Group D before bowing out of the competition in the knockout stage with a 2-0 defeat to eventual champions Spain.
That loss was marred by a row between Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri and reporters, while Paris Saint-Germain playmaker Jeremy Menez was involved in a series of heated confrontations.
Both players were suspended by the French Football Federation for their actions, paving the way for the inclusion of several fresh faces to take on Uruguay at Le Havre s newly opened Stade Oceane.
Uncapped youngsters Raphael Varane (Real Madrid), Christophe Jallet (Paris Saint-Germain), Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa (Montpellier) and Etienne Capoue (Toulouse) have been called up, while Lille captain Rio Mavuba and Lyon winger Jimmy Briand return to the fold.
Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez will be without Napoli striker Edinson Cavani and Liverpool playmaker Luis Suarez, who have only just linked up with their clubs following the Olympic football tournament.
While Uruguay s Olympic team failed to progress past the group stage at the London Games, the national team remains undefeated since May 2011.
Uruguay, who finished fourth at the 2010 World Cup, beat Paraguay in last year s Copa America final and are second in South American qualifying for the 2014 World Cup.
The Uruguayans continue their World Cup qualifying campaign away to Columbia on September 8, while France s road to Brazil 2014 begins against Finland in Helsinki a day earlier.
